Calvin Nelson Bio
Calvin was the 6th child of John Albert Nelson and Rebecca Morrison Nelson he was born August 27, 1927 in Salt Lake City, Utah. Calvin graduated from East High School in 1944. Upon graduation Calvin attended the University of Utah for 2 quarters when Uncle Sam enlisted his aid for 19 months in the United States Army beginning in Little Rock, Arkansas for basic training, then to Fort Ord, California, and from there to Fort Latten, Seattle and ending at Ft. Lewis, Tacoma, Washington.
Returning to Salt Lake he went to Utah State College for 4 years and graduated in Dairy Manufacturing in 1950. He began working for his dad at the Nelson Ricks Creamery. Cal said "Dad wanted him to learn the business from the group up so he worked in almost every department of the business."
